Mandois Brut Origine is a non-vintage Champagne from Henri Mandois, a family estate with nine generations of winemaking history based in Pierry in the heart of the Champagne region since 1735. This expression is crafted from a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Pinot Meunier sourced from 25-year-old vines, with a dosage of 7 grams per liter that places it firmly in the Brut style โ dry but not austere. Champagne Mandois opened a new winery in 2024, and nearly all of the estate's 37 hectares are now certified organic.
The wine opens with aromas of lime zest, sea salt, and fresh ginger alongside notes of toasty brioche. On the palate, ripe melon and cantaloupe take center stage, complemented by fine, restrained bubbles and a crisp mineral salinity on the finish. The mousse is delicate and persistent, making this an approachable yet sophisticated Champagne suited for sipping as an aperitif or paired with seafood, oysters, and light poultry dishes.
This Costco offering is sold as a case of six 750mL bottles. The wine has earned an A- rating from Drinkhacker and approximately 88 points from the CellarTracker community, with professional reviews from James Suckling, Burghound, and Jancis Robinson.
