The Hess Collection Lion Tamer Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, expertly crafted red wine from Napa Valley's prestigious growing regions. This signature expression showcases how the powerful tannins of classic valley floor Cabernet Sauvignon are expertly tamed and softened through the inclusion of mountain-grown Malbec, a hallmark of The Hess Collection's winemaking philosophy.

The 2022 vintage blend is composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec, and 2% Petite Sirah. Grapes were harvested from September 9th through October 17th under optimal ripening conditions. The wine was aged for 20 months in 40% new French and American oak barrels, imparting structure, nuanced complexity, and well-integrated sweet oak notes. Winemaking takes place at the Lions Head Cellar using optical sorting for peak berry quality and advanced fermentation technology for precise control.

On the palate, supple tannins reveal layers of blackberries and dark cherries, complemented by hints of freshly ground coffee, blueberries, cocoa, and a touch of vanilla bean on the finish.
