Compass Box Celestial is a limited edition blended Scotch whisky and the final release in the acclaimed Extinct Blends Quartet series. Inspired by a legendary whisky from the 1960s known for both its extravagant flavour profile and equine theme, Celestial is crafted by lead whiskymaker James Saxon and represents the peatiest and most expansive expression in the quartet. The blend draws on prized malt whiskies from the Ardbeg and Caol Ila distilleries on Islay, two parcels previously brought together for Compass Box's original No Name release.

The flavour profile opens with heavyweight peat smoke, beginning with beach bonfire notes that build into a rich coastal smokehouse character. Behind the smoke lies a gingery richness, vanilla sweetness, and grilled apple notes. The palate is dry and oak-forward, with meaty smokiness that transitions into cooked tropical fruits on the finish. Bottled at 50% ABV, it is presented at natural colour and is not chill-filtered. This is a limited release of just 5,532 bottles worldwide, bottled in November 2023, and is limited to one per membership at Costco.
