Gérard Bertrand Genora is an organic orange wine from the South of France, crafted as a tribute to the first orange wines created over 4,500 years ago in Georgia. Made by renowned winemaker Gérard Bertrand, this Vin de France showcases a radiant amber-orange color with golden reflections, evoking the warmth of sun-soaked southern French terroir.
Genora is a blend of four Mediterranean white grape varieties: Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc contribute body and volume, while Roussanne and Muscat add aromatic complexity. The wine is produced using an ancient winemaking technique in which white grapes are fermented in whole bunches with their skins and stalks—much like red wine—giving it its distinctive color, subtle tannicity, and singular character. Alcohol content is 13%.
On the nose, Genora opens with aromas of white flowers, candied fruits, and white pepper. The palate is soft, fresh, and texturally engaging, with subtle greedy notes and a fine bitter finish that lingers with beautiful length. Best served at 12°C for freshness and minerality, or at 14°C to reveal greater complexity. Pairs well with aperitifs, cheese platters, and Indian or Asian cuisine.
