Indri Single Malt Whisky Diwali Collector's Edition 2024 is a highly anticipated annual limited-edition release from Piccadily Distilleries in Indri, Haryana, India, crafted to celebrate Diwali. This single cask expression is distilled from peated indigenous six-row barley, twice distilled in copper pot stills, and aged a minimum of 6 years in an ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. Bottled at cask strength — 58.5% ABV (117 Proof) — it is non-chill filtered with no added coloring. Each bottle is individually numbered, making it a true collector's item.
The whisky opens with gentle smoke on the nose alongside notes of dried dates and raisins, caramel, and wet earth. The palate is sweet and chewy, bursting with fruity malt, baking spice, oak, and peat with a touch of sea salt. The long, spicy finish lingers with luscious sherry fruit and elegant peat smoke.
This 2024 edition features packaging artwork by artist Krsnaa Mehta — a tribute to India's rich cultural heritage through intricate illustrations of a majestic tiger and exotic flowers, celebrating the spirit and timeless allure of Diwali.
The Indri distillery was established in 2012 under Piccadily Distilleries, India's largest independent producer of malt spirits. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains near the Yamuna basin, the distillery is operated by Master Distiller Graeme Hamilton Bowie, a 38-year Scotch whisky veteran, and Master Blender Surrinder Kumar. Barley is hand-harvested from multigenerational family farms in Bundi, Rajasthan, and the distillery runs entirely on renewable energy generated from barley and rice chaff. The 2023 Diwali Collector's Edition received global acclaim, winning Best Whisky in the World.
