Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of the most celebrated and historic estates of the Southern Rhône Valley. The Perrin family property dates back to 1549, making it among the oldest domains in the appellation. This prestigious red wine is crafted using all thirteen permitted grape varieties of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a notably higher proportion of Mourvèdre than most producers in the region—a hallmark that gives Beaucastel its distinctive depth, complexity, and extraordinary aging potential. The estate practices biodynamic and certified organic viticulture, with a deep commitment to expressing authentic terroir.
Aged entirely in large traditional foudres, the wine develops complex layers of dark wild berries, black cherries, garrigue, warm Provençal spices, licorice, and earthy mineral undertones. It is medium to full-bodied with silky, beautifully integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, peppery and spiced finish. The blend typically includes Mourvèdre, Grenache, Counoise, Cinsault, Syrah, Terret Noir, Muscardin, Vaccarèse, and a portion of white varieties such as Roussanne and Clairette. Alcohol content is approximately 14% ABV.
Château Beaucastel is consistently rated among the world's greatest wines, regularly earning scores of 94–97 points from James Suckling, Decanter, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck, and Vinous. With outstanding aging potential of 15 to 25 or more years, this wine rewards patience and cellar time. This Costco offering is sold as a case of 6 x 750ml bottles.
