Pierre Legras Orior Brut is a non-vintage Champagne produced by the Pierre Legras estate, a family-owned grower-producer with roots dating to 1662, located in Chouilly — a Grand Cru village in the prestigious Côte des Blancs region of France. The Orior cuvée takes its name from the Latin word for "origin," representing the house's signature blend that unites the terroirs of Chouilly and Épernay.
The cuvée is composed of approximately 84% Chardonnay with Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from the estate's best Grand Cru parcels. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle following the traditional Champagne method and is aged on the lees for a minimum of 15 months, developing complexity and a creamy texture. Alcohol content is 12–12.5% ABV with residual sugar in the Brut range of approximately 6–12 g/l.
In the glass, it presents a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections and fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it offers aromas of white-fleshed fruits such as pear and peach, along with citrus notes, white flowers, and delicate hints of toasted bread and brioche gained through extended lees aging. On the palate, the structure is rich and complex, balanced by a lively acidity that leads to a long, persistent finish with an elegant mineral afteraste. Best served at 8–10°C, it pairs well as an aperitif and complements fish, shellfish, light starters, and poultry dishes. Best consumed within 3–5 years of harvest.
Contains sulfites.
