El Veneno is a red wine produced by Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola in the Alicante DO region of southern Spain. Made from 100% Monastrell (Mourvèdre) grapes sourced from 45-year-old vines grown on sandy limestone soils, this wine is fermented with 30% whole clusters and aged in used 500-liter French oak barrels for one year.

The wine offers a juicy, round palate with notes of lavender, rosemary, rockrose, and focused dark fruit, complemented by Mediterranean freshness and a long, balanced finish. It carries 14% alcohol by volume and contains sulfites. El Veneno has received critical acclaim, including a 95-point rating from Luis Gutiérrez of Robert Parker. It pairs well with beef, lamb, pasta, and game meats.
