Y. Rousseau Pépé Merlot is a small-production, single-vineyard red wine sourced from the Cavedale Vineyard in the Moon Mountain District AVA of Sonoma County, California. The vineyard sits at approximately 2,000 feet in elevation on the western slopes, providing the cool nights and intense sunlight that define this high-altitude appellation.

The wine is named "Pépé" in honor of the producer's French grandfather. It is made from 100% Merlot grapes and delivers a concentrated expression of the variety with aromas of ripe plum, heady oak, and cassis. On the palate, it presents up-front tannins and rich fruit concentration with a bright, lingering finish.

Moon Mountain District is one of California's more distinctive Merlot-producing zones, with volcanic soils and dramatic elevation changes contributing to wines of notable structure and depth. Each 750ML bottle contains approximately 13.5–14.5% ABV, consistent with warm-climate California Merlot.
