Ardbeg Spectacular is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky from the Islay region of Scotland, representing the first time in Ardbeg's history that rare port wine casks have been used for maturation. This whisky blends port-matured malt with classic bourbon barrel-aged spirit, creating a unique expression that balances Ardbeg's signature peat smoke with an intriguing sweetness.

The whisky is a marriage of malts aged 9 to 13 years, with roughly one-third matured in bourbon barrels and the remainder in port casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, it displays a sunset orange color. The nose is curiously perfumed and aromatic, featuring fragrant notes of lavender, vetiver, and incense candles, with deeper undertones of leather, almond nuttiness, and wax. Adding water reveals woodsmoke, damp peat moss, menthol, and antique leather.

On the palate, the mouthfeel is salty yet viscous, leading to a burst of bold, savory, smoky flavors including eucalyptus oil, salted caramel toffee, smoked pecan nuts, fragrant woodsmoke, creosote, and tar. Background sweetness emerges with notes of smoky pear crumble and fudge, along with candied walnut, orange peel, and grilled meat. The finish is exceptionally long and lingering, with more leather, salted caramel, and a cooling mentholic sensation.
