Collina San Ponzio Fossati is a Barolo DOCG wine produced exclusively from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Cru Fossati vineyard area spanning the towns of La Morra and Barolo in Piedmont, Italy. The estate, run by the Balocco Family, cultivates 3.5 hectares of vines over half a century old, hand-harvesting each bunch and using sustainable farming practices with no chemical fertilizers.

This wine presents a dark garnet color with aromas and flavors of red and black cherry, rose water, toasted cedar, and grilled steak with cherry compote. It is bone-dry with a medium-to-full body and a warming, complex, long finish featuring notes of dates and figs, cocoa powder, and orange zest, supported by coating, grippy, firm tannins. The 2019 vintage earned 93 points from Tastings.com, while the 2020 vintage received 96 points. At 14.5% ABV, it pairs beautifully with pot roast, steak and potatoes, beef stew, rich red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses.
