The Giribaldi Langhe Arneis is a 100% Arneis white wine from the Langhe DOC appellation in Piedmont, northwest Italy. Produced by Azienda Giribaldi from an organic vineyard called "Prato della Porta" in the Rodello area, the vines grow at an altitude of 430 meters above sea level on clayey, fertile, southeast-facing hillside terrain. Arneis, also known as Nebbiolo Bianco, is an ancient Piedmontese grape variety that nearly vanished in the 1970s before being revived in the 1980s.
The winemaking process begins with gentle pressing and 24-hour cold settling. Fermentation is temperature-controlled at 18-20°C for 30 days, followed by 90 days of aging on fine lees to develop additional richness and complexity. The wine is then bottle-aged for a minimum of two months before release, sealed with a natural cork closure at 14% alcohol by volume.
On the nose, this Arneis opens with aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle alongside notes of green apple, pear, melon, peach, and almond. On the palate it is ample and generous, with vibrant freshness balanced by fruity richness. An ideal aperitif, it pairs beautifully with light appetizers, fresh fish, sushi, shellfish, goat cheese, and light charcuterie. Serve chilled at 13-16°C (55-61°F). Contains sulfites.
