A classic-method sparkling wine from the Franciacorta DOCG appellation in Lombardy, northern Italy, sold as a case of six 750ml bottles. The name '61 pays homage to 1961, the year Guido Berlucchi produced the very first Franciacorta sparkling wine, establishing an Italian sparkling wine tradition that endures today.

Crafted from 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir harvested from the finest vineyards across the 19 municipal areas of Franciacorta, this wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle and matures on its lees for a minimum of 24 months, followed by an additional two months of aging after disgorgement. The assemblage incorporates approximately 20% reserve wines of both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, contributing complexity and consistency to the blend. Dosage is 5 g/l, placing it in the Extra Brut category, with an alcohol content of 12.5% ABV.

The wine pours a straw-yellow with greenish highlights and presents a soft mousse with a long-lasting cordon and fine, lingering bead. The bouquet is crisp, rich, and elegant, offering apple, pear, white peach, and citrus alongside notes of wild white flowers and a hint of bread crust. On the palate, it delivers exceptional freshness and zesty acidity with a velvet texture and fine balance, concluding with appealing citrus notes. It has received 90 points from Wine Spectator and 92 points from James Suckling.

Versatile at the table, it excels as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with risotto, pasta, white meats, fresh and medium-aged cheeses, and traditional Franciacorta specialties such as casoncelli and fresh-water fish like perch and char. Best served at 6–8°C (43–46°F).
