Sericis Old Vine Bobal is a premium red wine produced by Bodegas Murviedro from 100% old-vine Bobal grapes grown in the Utiel-Requena Denominación de Origen Protegida region of eastern Spain. The Bobal grape is indigenous to this area and celebrated for its bold, characterful style. The wine's name and label pay homage to the silk trade that once defined the economy of Requena.

The grapes are sourced from low-yielding vines grown in chalk-clay soils known as "Medio Dia," where intense sunshine and wide day-to-night temperature swings concentrate flavor and ensure exceptional quality. After harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed, followed by an extended temperature-controlled maceration and malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for a minimum of eight months in new French Allier oak barrels, adding layers of complexity.

The wine pours an intense red with light earthy hues, offering a deep and complex nose of forest fruits, toffee, and vanilla. On the palate it is fresh and full-bodied with smooth tannins and a very long finish, with dark plum, bramble, and toasty spice notes. Serve at 16–18°C and decant for at least one hour before serving. Pairs excellently with red meats, game, and cured cold cuts. Alcohol: 13.5% vol. Contains sulfites. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
