Clos du Lican Syrah Chile 750ML

Clos du Lican is a prestigious single-vineyard Syrah from the Apalta appellation in Chile's Colchagua Valley, produced by Casa Lapostolle. The project was initiated in 2004, when 15 hectares of Syrah were planted across this exceptional terroir to craft a 100% single-vineyard wine of the highest order.

This wine is predominantly Syrah (97%) co-fermented with a small portion of Viognier (3%), aged in a combination of new and used oak barrels of varying sizes. It presents a deep purple hue with captivating aromatics of black raspberries, blackberries, cassis, violets, spring flowers, black pepper, black licorice, smoked herbs, and hints of tar. On the palate it is full-bodied yet elegantly structured, with ultra-fine, silky tannins, a pure and seamless mouthfeel, and a long, juicy, floral finish. At 15% ABV, this is a wine built for both current enjoyment and long-term cellaring through 2045.

Clos du Lican consistently earns some of the highest critical scores given to any South American wine. Recent vintages have received 98–100 points from James Suckling, 98–99 points from Jeb Dunnuck, and 98 points from The Drink Business, cementing its status as a benchmark Syrah from the New World.
