Château Abelyce Grand Cru Saint-Émilion is a distinguished red Bordeaux blend from the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation in France's Bordeaux region. This wine is crafted from 100% Merlot grapes grown in a small 2-hectare vineyard located in the Vignonet commune near the Dordogne river, featuring soils of recent gravels and sandy clay. The vines average 40 years of age, hand-harvested and vinified in stainless steel tanks, then aged 60% in new oak barrels and 40% in tanks.
The wine exhibits magnificent ripe fruit character with deep black cherry, plum, and cranberry notes accompanied by earthy undertones. The palate reveals medium to higher tannins with a smooth, balanced mouthfeel, complemented by mineral notes and hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and light chocolate on the finish. Smoky and earthy aromas enhance the complex profile with touches of licorice, wet leaves, and black tea.
This Grand Cru Saint-Émilion pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, venison, pork, game meats like elk, pasta with tomato-based sauces, mushrooms, hard cheeses, and pungent cheeses. The wine's solid structure and lush black fruits make it approachable now while maintaining excellent aging potential. Each case contains 12 bottles of 750ML, and the estate produces approximately 14,900 bottles annually.
