Villa Trasqua Fanatico is a Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva from the renowned Chianti Classico zone of Tuscany, Italy. The estate, spanning 120 hectares with 50 hectares dedicated to Chianti Classico and IGT wines, was first planted in 1965 and has been owned by Hans Hulsbergen since 2001. This wine is composed of 80% Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, and 5% Alicante Bouschet, fermented in large 5,000-liter wooden barrels at controlled temperatures of 26–28°C with a minimum of 22–25 days of skin contact.

The wine is aged for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels followed by at least 12 months of bottle aging, producing a wine of impressive depth and elegance. It pours an intense ruby red with very light garnet hues, offering aromas of black cherry, dark berries, vanilla, cloves, and cinnamon that evolve into hints of milk chocolate and roasted coffee. On the palate, it is dynamic and fresh with blackcurrant fruit, fine silky tannins, and a savory, lingering finish. Alcohol content is 14% by volume. Best served at 16–18°C.

Pairs beautifully with lasagna Bolognaise, pasta with game sauces, and roasted lamb. Highly acclaimed across multiple vintages, with scores reaching 91–95 points from James Suckling, Gold Medals at Mundus Vini, and a 98-point rating from Luca Maroni for the 2015 vintage.
