Caruso e Minini Nero d'Avola is a dry red wine from Sicily, Italy, produced by the family-owned Caruso e Minini winery. Crafted from Nero d'Avola, one of Sicily's most celebrated indigenous grape varieties, the wine is grown in the sun-drenched vineyards of western Sicily near Marsala, where the warm Mediterranean climate yields grapes of exceptional richness and character.
This Sicilian red pours a deep ruby color and delivers vibrant aromas of ripe blackberry, dark cherry, and plum, complemented by hints of dark chocolate, tobacco, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with soft, velvety tannins, balanced acidity, and a round, fruit-forward finish. The naturally warm growing conditions of Sicily produce grapes with concentrated flavors, resulting in a wine that is both approachable and expressive.
Caruso e Minini practices sustainable viticulture across their Sicilian estate and is known for producing wines that showcase the authentic character of the island. The Nero d'Avola grape is native to Sicily and is sometimes called the "Barolo of the South" for its ability to produce powerful, structured reds of great depth and personality. Best served at 60–65°F, it pairs beautifully with grilled lamb and beef, hearty tomato-based pasta, wood-fired pizza, and aged Italian cheeses.
