Beyond Summerland, Jenny Lecoat

Beyond Summerland is a historical fiction novel by New York Times bestselling author Jenny Lecoat, published by Harlequin in July 2024. Set in the Channel Islands after the end of World War II, the story follows nineteen-year-old Jean Parris as she navigates the tense aftermath of the German occupation of Jersey. When Jean discovers that Hazel, a teacher living above her late father's shop, may have been responsible for his wartime arrest and subsequent death in custody, she confronts her. But as rumors of collaboration swirl, the two women form an unexpected bond built on shared secrets and a desire for truth.

This 304-page paperback explores themes of revenge, forgiveness, and the lasting scars of war in a community once known as a "Summerland" holiday paradise. Jenny Lecoat, born in Jersey, draws on her own family's experience under Nazi Occupation to craft this follow-up to her breakout bestseller The Girl from the Channel Islands.
