Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a prestigious Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) wine estate from the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux, France. This exceptional wine represents over 300 years of winemaking heritage dating back to 1720 and is currently owned and operated by the Borie family, now in its third generation under proprietor Bruno-Eugène Borie.
The château is named after the beautiful, large stones (beaux cailloux) found in its unique terroir along the Gironde estuary. This exceptional ecosystem of Günzian gravel soils produces fine, elegant, and balanced wines with remarkable aging potential. The estate's wine is typically a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, aged in new French oak barrels.
Under Bruno-Eugène Borie's expert stewardship and dynamic winemaking approach, Château Ducru-Beaucaillou has reached new heights, producing what many consider the finest wines in the estate's long history. The wines are characterized by their finesse, elegance, complexity, and long finish, exemplifying the archetypal Saint-Julien style. Recent vintages have earned exceptional critical acclaim, including multiple 100-point scores from Wine Enthusiast, 99-point ratings from Wine Spectator and James Suckling, and 98 points from Robert Parker.
