Château Figeac 2021 Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is a prestigious Bordeaux wine from one of the most historic estates in the region, recently elevated to 1er Grand Cru Classé A status in the 2022 Saint-Émilion Classification. This exceptional vintage is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Cabernet Franc, and 29% Merlot, harvested from September 21 to October 19, making it one of the longest and latest harvests in the estate's history.

The 2021 vintage marks the debut of the château's new state-of-the-art cellars. The wine is matured in 100% new oak barrels, with élevage reduced by two months to complement the lighter structure of the vintage. The estate's 40-hectare vineyard is planted on three Günzian gravel outcrops, earning it the nickname "the Médoc of Saint-Émilion."

This wine displays remarkable aromatic complexity with notes of dark chocolate, pink flowers, red cherry, vanilla, and cinnamon from the Cabernet Franc, along with violets, roses, cigar wrapper, espresso, and dark berries. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave, with ultra-refined tannins and a fine bead of acidity. The finish is long and floral with chalky minerality and salinity. Critics have scored this wine 96-97 points, calling it one of the finest Right Bank wines of the vintage. Pairs excellently with beef, lamb, poultry, and game. Contains 13% ABV and contains sulfites.
