It honors the legacy of Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka and pioneer of Japanese whisky, who studied whisky-making in Scotland in the 1920s before returning to Japan to establish the craft.

This non-age-statement pure malt whisky is a vatting of single malts from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, combining contrasting regional styles into a harmonious whole. Yoichi contributes peaty, robust, and smoky characteristics, while Miyagikyo adds lighter, floral, and fruity notes. The result is a balanced and elegant whisky with aromas of gentle wood spices, smoke, vanilla, and citrus, leading to a palate of star fruit, Asian pear, peach, lemon, and aromatic spice with a distinctive waxy, silky texture.

Bottled at 43% ABV, this whisky fully complies with the Japanese Whisky Association's standards for authentic Japanese whisky. It is presented in a 750ml bottle and arrives in cases of six. Ideal for sipping neat, on the rocks, or in classic cocktails such as a whisky highball.
