Château Léoville Barton is a celebrated 2ème Grand Cru Classé (Second Growth) estate located in the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation of the Médoc, Bordeaux, France, classified in the historic 1855 Classification. This bottle is the 2021 vintage, a 750mL red wine produced under the direction of the Barton family, who have owned the estate since 1826.
The 2021 vintage is a classic Médoc blend composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged in 60% new French oak barrels. The wine delivers an elegant aromatic profile of ripe cassis and plum fruit interwoven with subtle notes of pencil shavings, menthol, and warm spices. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, impressively concentrated, and structured around lively acidity and a chassis of fine, powdery tannins that promise excellent aging potential.
Pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, duck confit, aged hard cheeses, and richly seasoned beef dishes. Best served at 16–18°C (61–64°F) in a large Bordeaux glass, and may be decanted for 30–60 minutes to fully open its bouquet.
