Château Pavie Macquin is a Premier Grand Cru Classé B estate in the Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux, France. The property takes its name from Albert Macquin, a 19th-century viticulture pioneer credited with helping save Bordeaux's vineyards from the phylloxera epidemic by developing the technique of grafting vines onto resistant rootstocks. The estate is certified biodynamic and has been managed by the Corre family, with the vineyards planted on clay and limestone soils at the plateau and slopes of Saint-Émilion.
The 2021 vintage is a blend of approximately 79% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Harvest took place in early-to-mid October, with the wine spending 30–35 days on skins in open-top wood and concrete tanks before aging in 50% new French oak barrels. It displays deep purple color with aromas of blue fruits, sweet berries, violets, Indian spices, licorice, and chalky minerality. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with ripe, rounded tannins, concentrated mid-palate depth, and a long mineral finish. Expected to drink well through 2036.
This wine is sold in a case of 12 bottles (750ml each).
