Château Nenin 2021 is a distinguished red Bordeaux wine from the prestigious Pomerol appellation on the Right Bank. This Grand Vin is crafted from a blend of 64% Merlot and 36% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the estate's exceptional 32-hectare vineyard featuring terroir of gravel, clay, sand, and iron. The wine was aged in approximately 30% new French oak for 18 months.
The 2021 vintage presents a soft, curvy, and approachable character with aromas of dark red cherry, blood orange, spice, menthol, and cedar. On the palate, it offers impeccably balanced elements with medium to full body, a fleshy and velvety texture, and a creamy, polished finish. Critics note it is "a wine of pure and total pleasure," with notes of cherries, flowers, chocolate, and a hint of pineapple.
Château Nenin has been owned by the Delon family since 1997, who also own the renowned Château Léoville Las Cases in Saint-Julien. The estate neighbors Trotanoy and Le Pin, representing exceptional Pomerol terroir. The 2021 vintage is listed among the best modern vintages and received scores of 92-93 points from major critics including Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, and Vinous Media. Best enjoyed from 2025-2042 after 1-2 hours of decanting. Alcohol: 13%.
