Château Brane-Cantenac is a classified Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) estate situated in the prestigious Margaux appellation of Bordeaux, France. Established as a major wine-producing property since the early 17th century and enshrined in the historic 1855 Classification of the Médoc, the château rests on one of the highest gravel mounds in the region, overlooking the Gironde Estuary — an ideal terroir for producing structured, age-worthy red wines.
The estate encompasses approximately 75 hectares of Left Bank vineyards planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), with Merlot (39%), Cabernet Franc (4.5%), Petit Verdot (1%), and Carménère (0.5%) rounding out the blend. Under the stewardship of Henri Lurton and the Lurton family, Brane-Cantenac has been recognized as one of the top Margaux estates, earning consistent acclaim from major critics. Typical vintages exhibit elegant black fruits, cassis, leafy tobacco, and cedarwood with refined tannins, a seamless texture, and notable aging potential of 20 to 30 years or more.
This 750ml bottle offers a quintessential expression of Margaux — perfumed, precise, and built for both current enjoyment and long-term cellaring.
