Château Bellefont-Belcier is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate located on the prestigious Côte Pavie slopes in Bordeaux, France. This elegant Right Bank Bordeaux blend showcases the best of Saint-Émilion terroir with 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from 14 hectares of clay and limestone vineyards.
The wine exhibits classic Saint-Émilion characteristics with aromas of flowers, crushed rocks, red plums, licorice, and espresso. On the palate, it delivers silky, elegant textures with layers of fresh red berries, blackberries, and mineral-driven complexity. Tasting notes reveal a refined wine with soft tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long finish marked by cocoa, mint, and stony minerality.
The estate dates back to the 18th century and has been owned by Peter Kwok and his Vignobles K Group since 2017. The property is located adjacent to prestigious neighbors including Château Pavie, Larcis Ducasse, and Tertre Roteboeuf. Consulting oenologist Michel Rolland oversees winemaking, with grapes vinified in traditional cement vats and aged 18-24 months in 30-40% new French oak barrels.
Professional critics consistently rate Château Bellefont-Belcier highly, with recent vintages scoring 90-95+ points from James Suckling, Jeb Dunnuck, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, and Decanter. The wine is best enjoyed after 4-7 years of bottle age and can cellar for 20-40 years. Serve at 60°F with grilled meats, roasted game, duck, hearty fish like tuna, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses.
