Château Ferrière 2021 is a 3ème Grand Cru Classé from the prestigious Margaux appellation in Bordeaux, France. Produced by the Villars-Lurton family estate, this red wine is crafted from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (81%), Merlot (13%), Petit Verdot (5%), and Cabernet Franc (1%), sourced from 24 hectares of vines on the Margaux plateau's deep gravel and limestone marl soils.
The wine is vinified by plot using natural yeasts with gentle pump-over extraction and three weeks of maceration. It is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels (40% new, 40% second-fill) along with ovoid vats and amphorae (20%). Château Ferrière has been certified organic (AB) since 2015 and biodynamic (Demeter and Biodyvin) since 2018.
On the palate, this Margaux offers alluring freshness and great elegance, with persistent tension and particularly fine tannins. Critics have rated the 2021 vintage highly, with scores including 94/100 from Vinous (Antonio Galloni), 93/100 from James Suckling, and 92/100 from Robert Parker.
