Quixote Winery Cabernet Sauvignon from the prestigious Stags Leap District in Napa Valley is a boutique, estate-grown wine crafted by renowned winemakers Robert Smith and Philippe Melka. This small-production Cabernet (only 3,000 cases produced annually) showcases the true terroir of the Stags Leap Appellation, known for wines with rounded and resolved tannins, highly appreciable fruit-driven bouquets, and characteristics that allow aging for many years while remaining approachable in their youth.
The wine is produced from Quixote's unique 27-acre estate vineyard featuring four distinct soil types with both east and west-facing slopes, resulting in exceptional balance and complexity. Grapes are hand-picked into small bins and sorted using optical sorters to ensure only the finest fruit is selected. The winemaking philosophy focuses on staying true to the vineyard and letting the wine express the authentic character of the Stags Leap District.
Quixote Winery is notable not only for its world-class wines but also for its extraordinary architecture designed by Viennese artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, making it the only Hundertwasser-designed building in the Americas. The winery's small production wines are found at top restaurants and hotels worldwide, reflecting their commitment to creating elegant, age-worthy wines with immediate softness and approachability.
