Roberto Voerzio Barolo Brunate is a prestigious single-vineyard Barolo DOCG wine from the Brunate cru, spanning the communes of La Morra and Barolo in Piedmont, Italy. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, this wine is produced by one of the most celebrated modernist winemakers in the Langhe region. Roberto Voerzio founded his estate in 1986 and has since earned a reputation for crafting some of the most sought-after Barolos in the world through meticulous low-yield viticulture.
The wine is fermented using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks for 10 to 30 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. It is then aged in a combination of French oak barriques, tonneau, and large traditional botti before being bottled without filtration and given an additional eight months of bottle aging. Production is extremely limited, typically ranging from 150 to 450 cases per vintage.
On the nose, the wine presents ripe dark cherry, cola, and red fruit aromatics. The palate delivers layers of licorice, plum, and dried rose, with a silky yet firm tannic structure typical of the Brunate vineyard. Vintages have earned scores as high as 96 points from Wine Advocate and are considered top-tier collectible wines. Average market pricing is approximately $322โ$342 per 750ml bottle.
