Monnalisa Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC is an Italian red wine produced by Cantine Leonardo da Vinci, part of the renowned "1502" collection inspired by the genius of Leonardo da Vinci. Made from 100% Montepulciano grapes grown in the Abruzzese hills, this wine showcases the authentic character of the Abruzzo region. The bottle features a distinctive label-less design with artwork printed directly onto the glass, making it a collectible piece that reinterprets Leonardo da Vinci's iconic works.
The wine presents an intense ruby red color with violet and purple nuances. On the nose it offers an earthy, herbaceous bouquet with notes of ripe red fruits, cherry, plum, dried currants, fennel, pepper, and delicate spicy undertones. The palate reveals a structured yet balanced profile, with a foundation of chocolate anchoring luxurious fruit flavors, complemented by soft tannins, pleasant persistence, and assertive acidity. The grapes undergo steel fermentation with skin maceration, followed by 6 to 12 months of aging in oak barrels, preserving freshness while adding depth.
Best served at 16-18°C (61-64°F), this wine pairs excellently with red meats, roasts, game, hearty pasta dishes, and aged cheeses. Recommended for consumption within 5 years of vintage. 750 ML bottle, approximately 14.5% ABV.
