A vibrant Spanish red wine from the Bierzo region, made with 100% Mencía grapes from high-altitude vineyards at 900 meters above sea level. This family-run estate has been crafting traditional wines for over two decades, sourcing fruit from 42 distinct vineyard plots along the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route.

The wine is vinified in small 10,000L deposits where different vineyard plots ferment separately, then aged for two months on its own lees before spending 10-12 months in second and third-year French oak barrels. This careful process creates a wine brimming with cherry, blueberry, and floral aromas, offering a vibrant, spicy character with polished tannins and bright acidity leading to a long, mineral finish.

The wine shows aromas of black fruit, violet, pepper, and subtle vegetable notes. With 14% alcohol content and just 2.3 g/L sugar, this organic and natural wine pairs beautifully with grilled steaks, duck salad with strawberries, Mexican-style chicken, tortillas with steak and grilled vegetables, or aged cheeses. Serve between 14-16°C for optimal enjoyment.

This wine has received critical acclaim with 91 points from James Suckling (vintages 2018-2022) and 90 points from Robert Parker (2019 vintage). The slower maturation from the mountainous terrain and greater temperature variation between day and night gives the Mencía grapes enhanced freshness and complexity.
