Maison Passot Gamay Chiroubles Cru Beaujolais is a red wine from the Chiroubles appellation, one of the ten Crus of Beaujolais in France. Produced entirely from the Gamay Noir grape variety, this 750ML bottle expresses the singular character of high-altitude granitic terroir, with vineyards situated between 250 and 450 meters above sea level on steep slopes that provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine's vibrant, fresh, and aromatic profile.
Maison Passot is a family estate founded in 1989 in the village of Chiroubles, now managed by the Passot family across four and five generations. The estate holds High Environmental Value certification since 2019, reflecting over two decades of sustainable viticulture. Grapes are hand-harvested, and winemaking proceeds without added sulphites using indigenous yeasts. The wine undergoes traditional semi-carbonic maceration to preserve its fruit-forward character before aging in stainless steel tanks to maintain crisp acidity and vivid fruit.
On the nose the wine offers aromas of red cherry, crushed strawberry, raspberry, dried violet, and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth with clean, precise red fruit, lively acidity, and supple tannins—a versatile food partner for poultry, grilled meats, and light cheeses. Rated 90 points by Wine Enthusiast and 91 points by Vinous. 13% ABV. Cork enclosure.
