El Tesoro Single Barrel Reposado is a 100% blue agave tequila produced at the historic La Alteña distillery in Arandas, Los Altos, Jalisco — a region celebrated for its rich tequila heritage. Founded in 1937 by the Camarena family, La Alteña employs traditional tahona-stone crushing of roasted agave, open wooden fermentation tanks with agave fibers, and distillation to proof rather than diluting post-distillation, preserving the full character of the agave.

Aged nine to eleven months in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, this reposado develops layers of complexity while retaining its highland agave identity. On the nose, expect grilled fruits, agave, and orange blossom honey. The palate is juicy and fruity, accented with agave, light smoke, butterscotch, and toasted oak with an earthy character. The finish is lightly smoky and spicy. Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), this expression has earned a Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (2021) and 94 Points plus the Chairman's Trophy at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge (2021).
