Mezcal Amarás Espadín Joven is a traditional, unaged mezcal crafted in San Juan del Río, Oaxaca, Mexico using 100% Espadín agave plants aged approximately 8 years before harvest. The brand was founded in 2010 with a focus on sustainable, artisanal production in partnership with the Laajsh Doob cooperative of local mezcaleros.

The production follows time-honored methods: agave piñas are roasted for five days in conical earthen ovens over Holm Oak logs, then milled with horse-drawn stone wheels. Fermentation occurs in open pine containers using wild native yeast, followed by double distillation in copper pot stills — resulting in a spirit that captures the authentic smoky terroir of Oaxaca.

On the nose, Amarás Espadín offers subtle citrus aromas of bergamot with sweet cherry blossom notes. The palate opens with hints of sandalwood, transitioning to ripe mango, and finishes with a velvety, lightly salted texture and a touch of cinnamon. At 41% ABV, it earned 98 points and a Chairman's Trophy from the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
