Château Haut-Brion is a Premier Grand Cru Classé (First Growth) Bordeaux red wine from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, presented in a 6-liter Imperial format. As one of only five First Growth estates classified in the historic 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Haut-Brion is the sole representative from the Graves region and one of the most prestigious wines in the world.
The grand vin is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, sourced from 48.35 hectares of vineyards planted on Günzian gravel soils. The average vine age is approximately 35 years, with the oldest parcels dating to the 1930s. Grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented in specialized double-tanks before aging in oak casks for 18 months. The estate is owned by Domaine Clarence Dillon, which has held the property since 1935.
The 6L Imperial bottle is equivalent to eight standard 750ml bottles, making it an exceptional format for cellaring and special occasions. Château Haut-Brion has a storied history dating back to 1525, with admirers including Samuel Pepys, Thomas Jefferson, and King Charles II of England.
