Hennessy X.O x Jean-Michel Othoniel is a 2024 limited edition collaboration between the storied Cognac Maison and acclaimed French contemporary artist Jean-Michel Othoniel. The artist, celebrated internationally as a "glass virtuoso," reimagined the iconic Hennessy X.O decanter as a jewel in the rough — drawing inspiration from the cognac's extra-long maturation process and the way oak barrels gradually facet the aromas and flavors of the eaux-de-vie over many years.

Hennessy X.O itself was originally created in 1870 and blends over 100 carefully selected eaux-de-vie, some aged up to 30 years. The result is a rich, complex cognac marked by seven signature tasting notes — wood, spice, chocolate, jasmine, richness, fruit, and a long, warming finish. Bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV) and produced in the Cognac region of France.

Othoniel's design transforms the X.O decanter into a work of art evoking a faceted gemstone, referencing Hennessy's seven tasting notes through glistening crystal forms. The Limited Edition 750ML bottle features the artist's signature aesthetic of light, color, and enchantment applied to the decanter label and form. A separate ultra-rare Masterpiece version, limited to just 108 pieces worldwide, incorporates hand-faceted Baccarat crystal and a hand-carved wooden case.
