Domaine Durup is one of the largest and most respected domaines in Chablis, a renowned appellation within Burgundy, France. Founded by Jean Durup, the estate is celebrated for producing classic, terroir-driven Chablis wines made entirely from Chardonnay grapes grown on the region's distinctive Kimmeridgian limestone soils.
This Chablis expresses the hallmark characteristics of the appellation: a pale straw color with green highlights, a crisp and elegant nose of green apple, citrus, and white flowers, and a mineral-driven palate with notes of lemon, pear, and a characteristic flinty, chalky finish. The wine is unoaked, allowing the pure fruit and vivid acidity to shine through.
Chablis AOC is located in the northernmost reaches of Burgundy, where the cool continental climate produces wines of exceptional freshness and precision. Domaine Durup's Chablis is well-suited as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, goat cheese, and light poultry dishes. Serve chilled between 48–54°F (9–12°C).
