Wente Vineyards' Nth Degree Pinot Noir is a handcrafted, limited-production wine from the Livermore Valley and Arroyo Seco appellations in California, crafted by fifth-generation winemaker Karl D. Wente. The wine showcases the depth of the Dijon Clone, with grapes carefully handpicked from estate vineyards to express distinctive terroir.
Dark ruby in the glass, the wine opens with vibrant aromas of ripe black cherry, pomegranate, and blackberries, framed by vanilla and toasted oak. On the palate, flavors of ripe dark fruits, baking spices, and French oak spices including toasted vanilla bean lead to a silky, well-balanced finish with supple acidity. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, the grapes are fermented in small stainless-steel tanks with twice-daily pneumatage to gently extract aromatics and flavors, then aged eighteen months in 40% new and 60% second-use French oak barrels. Alcohol: 14.5% ABV. Pairs well with pan-seared duck breast, lamb, and mushroom-based dishes.
