Fresh cage-free duck eggs from Olinday Farms, a family-owned operation in California's Salinas Valley with over 60 years of duck farming heritage. These premium duck eggs are 20 grams larger than chicken eggs, providing a richer, more flavorful yolk with a distinctive savory and creamy taste. Each dozen contains eggs from white Peking ducks raised in open-sided buildings with natural ventilation, never in cages, and fed an all-grain diet.
Duck eggs offer superior nutrition compared to chicken eggs, with 52 more calories per egg, 2.97 grams more protein, and 0.41 grams more carbohydrates. They provide 90% of the daily value of vitamin B12, 52% of selenium, 21% of iron, and 17% of vitamin D per 100-gram serving. Rich in antioxidants like carotenoids (carotene, cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin, and lutein), duck eggs support eye health and may reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration. High in choline (263mg per 100g), they support brain function and healthy fetal development during pregnancy.
The farm utilizes sustainable practices including solar panels providing 75% of electrical needs, composted manure for local farms, and filtered water runoff through grass strips. Olinday Farms is the largest fresh duck egg producer in the United States, continuing a three-generation family legacy started by Olin Metzer in the 1960s.
Nutrition per 100g serving (approximately 1.5 duck eggs): 185 calories, 13g protein, 14g fat, 1g carbohydrates, 295% DV cholesterol, 90% DV vitamin B12, 52% DV selenium, 24% DV riboflavin, 21% DV iron, 17% DV vitamin D. Keep refrigerated at 45°F or below. Cook until yolk is firm for food safety.
