Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most celebrated cult wines in the world, produced on a roughly 57-acre estate in the Oakville appellation of Napa Valley, California. The winery was founded by Jean Phillips in 1986 and is currently owned by Stan Kroenke. Production is extraordinarily limited — approximately 500 cases per year — and normally requires placement on a waitlist of roughly 12 years to obtain through the winery's mailing list.

The wine is typically a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc sourced from the estate's diverse soils of rocks, gravel, loam, and clay. It is aged for approximately two years in French oak barrels. Screaming Eagle consistently earns near-perfect scores from leading critics including Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, which has described it as one of the most profound Napa Valley Cabernets ever produced.

This 2011 vintage from the Oakville appellation displays a deep garnet-purple color. The nose opens with intense aromas of cassis, ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, dark chocolate, wild sage, lavender, and crushed rock. On the palate it is full-bodied with beautifully integrated, silky tannins, vivid black and red fruit character, and a long, layered mineral-driven finish with notes of graphite, tobacco, and violet.
