Château Lalande de Gravet is a family estate located in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon in the prestigious Saint-Émilion appellation of Bordeaux, France. This Grand Cru rouge is a classic Right Bank Bordeaux blend composed of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from approximately 6 hectares of clay and siliceous soils with vines averaging 45 years of age.
The wine opens with a refined, fruit-forward nose of blackcurrant, black cherry, and ripe plum, accented by baking spices, vanilla, cedar, and earthy gravel notes. On the palate, it is dry and lean with medium concentration, smooth integrated tannins, and a lively acidity that lends itself beautifully to food pairing. A herbal and peppery character emerges on the finish, adding complexity and length. The wine benefits from aeration and rewards patience in the cellar.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in a combination of new oak barrels (25%), once-used barrels (25%), and stainless steel tanks (50%), the wine strikes a balance between fresh fruit expression and subtle oak influence. The estate produces approximately 46,600 bottles annually. Recent vintages have earned community scores of 88–90 points and gold medals at the Challenge International du Vin and the Frankfurt International Trophy.
