Viticcio Sospetti is a vibrant Tuscan red wine blend from Greve in Chianti, crafted by Fattoria Viticcio, a winery that has been producing wines since 1964 in the heart of Chianti Classico. This wine is composed of 40% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 10% Syrah, creating a well-balanced and approachable blend.
The wine displays a ruby red color with inviting aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, roasted meat, and baking spices. On the palate, it is mild and savory with a good body and subtly long finish, making it an excellent pairing for cured meats, grilled meats, or pasta dishes with light meat sauces. The winemaking process includes alcoholic fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for 15-20 days at 26-30ยฐC with regular pumping over and delestage, followed by malolactic fermentation and 12 months of aging in stainless steel tanks. With 13% alcohol by volume and an annual production of 50,000 bottles, this wine has earned recognition with 93 points from both Decanter and James Suckling.
