Cascina Valle Asinari Barbera d'Asti is a DOCG-certified red wine from the Asti zone of Piedmont, northwestern Italy. Produced by the Cascina Valle Asinari estate, this 750ML bottle showcases the Barbera grape variety at its most expressive โ a grape that has been cultivated in Piedmont for centuries and is considered one of the region's most important indigenous varieties.
Barbera d'Asti DOCG is known for its deep ruby color, lively natural acidity, and soft tannins. Expect aromas and flavors of ripe cherry, blackberry, and plum, often complemented by hints of violet, spice, and a touch of vanilla if the wine sees any oak aging. The bright acidity makes it a highly food-friendly wine that pairs beautifully with pasta in tomato-based sauces, pizza, grilled meats, and aged Piedmontese cheeses.
The Cascina Valle Asinari estate is a family-run winery rooted in the traditional winemaking culture of Asti. Their Barbera d'Asti reflects the terroir of the region's rolling hillside vineyards, producing a wine of good depth and character at an approachable price point. Barbera d'Asti received its DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) designation in 2008, the highest quality classification in Italian wine law.
