Ohishi Whisky Brandy Cask is a premium Japanese whisky crafted at the historic Ohishi Distillery, a family-run operation founded in 1872 on the banks of the Kuma River in southwestern Japan — one of Japan's fastest-flowing rivers, renowned for its exceptional water quality. The distillery grows its own distinct strain of aromatic rice called "gohyakumanishi" (5 million stones) using organic cultivation methods that incorporate koi carp for natural weed control.

This expression is distilled from both malted and unmalted rice, then matured for 10 years in French oak ex-brandy casks under the guidance of 6th generation Master Distiller Kazunori Ohishi. The long aging in brandy barrels imparts a rich, vinous character while the whisky retains its distinctly Japanese rice-based soul. It is imported to the United States by Georgia Royal Collection Inc. and bottled at 42.2% ABV (84.4 proof).

On the nose, expect sherry-forward aromas of oak, nuttiness, citrus, grainy sweetness, dried dark fruit, leather, and a touch of peppery spice. The palate delivers rich vanilla, citrus, dried dark fruit, oily nuts, ash, and oak with an alluring sweetness. The finish is long, driven by sherry notes with hints of cocoa, dark fruit, and warm spice.
