Y d'Yquem (also known as "Y" or "Ygrec") is the rare, prestigious dry white wine produced by Château d'Yquem, the legendary Sauternes estate in Bordeaux, France. Made from the same vineyard plots that yield the estate's celebrated dessert wines, "Y" represents an entirely different expression—a focused, elegant dry white Bordeaux of exceptional quality. Production is extremely limited, typically around 10,000 bottles per vintage.

The wine is a blend of approximately 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon, fermented and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, one-third new and the remainder previously used for Yquem. This approach imparts subtle oak integration while preserving the wine's fresh aromatic character. Alcohol typically reaches around 14% ABV with low residual sugar (6–7 g/l), giving a technically dry but richly textured profile.

Expect aromas of lemon curd, white peach, grapefruit zest, elderflower, and green apple, with mineral chalk and a hint of toasted almonds from the oak. The palate is vibrant and layered, with Sauvignon Blanc's crisp acidity balanced by Sémillon's textural richness, finishing long and saline. Critics consistently award scores in the 94–96 point range. The wine drinks well upon release but has outstanding aging potential through 2040 and beyond.
