Michele Chiarlo Cerequio Barolo DOCG is a prestigious single-vineyard wine from the Cerequio cru, one of Piedmont's most celebrated growing sites situated between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown on Tortonian soils rich in calcareous marl, this wine is produced only in excellent vintages and in very limited quantities. Michele Chiarlo, one of Piedmont's most respected family estates with over 60 hectares across Langhe, Monferrato, and Gavi, has earned 12 Tre Bicchieri awards from Gambero Rosso for this cuvée.

Vinification takes place in 55-hectoliter oak vats with 20 days of skin maceration using a gentle shower system to wet the cap at temperatures between 27–30°C, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for a minimum of three years, including two years in medium-sized oak casks before further bottle refinement. This extended aging imparts its characteristic complexity and structure.

The wine pours a deep ruby and garnet red with brilliant hues. On the nose it is complex and expressive with notes of mature dark fruits, wild mint, eucalyptus, gentian, and fine spices. On the palate it is rich and full-structured with a tight weave of fine tannins and a long, harmonious finish that is the hallmark of the Cerequio terroir. Serve at 18°C alongside egg pasta with white Alba truffle, pan-fried lamb, veal braised in Barolo, or aged Castelmagno cheese. Certified sustainable under the Equalitas program.
