Viña Leyda Lot 21 Pinot Noir is a limited-production red wine from Chile's Leyda Valley, with a maximum of 5,000 bottles produced per vintage. The Leyda Valley, located within the San Antonio appellation, is known for its cool coastal climate influenced by the Pacific Ocean, which allows Pinot Noir to develop exceptional complexity and freshness.
This wine is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grapes and undergoes a three-day cold maceration followed by fermentation with natural yeasts. It is aged in a combination of foudre, concrete egg, and used barrels, a technique that preserves the grape's natural character while adding subtle texture. The result is a wine with a clear, floral profile and layers of ripe strawberry, tart cherry, raspberry, and cassis, complemented by notes of raspberry liqueur, cocoa, soft spices, a hint of mushroom, and earthy undertones. The finish is long with a characteristic saline quality typical of coastal Chilean wines.
Lot 21 is consistently ranked among the top Pinot Noirs from the Leyda Valley and represents outstanding value for its quality. It pairs well with salmon, duck, mushroom dishes, and soft cheeses. The bottle contains 750ML and is sold in a case of 6. Alcohol content is 13.5%.
