Cascina Vengore Mompirone is a Barbera d'Asti DOCG Superiore from Piedmont (Piemonte), Italy. Produced by Cascina Vengore, a family-run, fully organic winery in Cisterna d'Asti, this wine is crafted from 100% Barbera grapes grown on a 1.86-hectare single vineyard in the Mompirone area around Monte Stefano, where sandy, calcareous soils of marine origin have supported exceptional wine production for over 2,000 years. The winery holds both organic (Bio) and Vegan certifications, farming exclusively with manure, green manure, copper, and sulphur.

Grapes are harvested in the first ten days of October and fermented for 8 to 10 days in temperature-controlled vats at 26°C. The wine is then aged in traditional 25-hl Slavonian oak barrels, following a minimal-intervention, Piedmontese winemaking philosophy.

Mompirone pours an intense ruby-red with spicy aromas evoking blackcurrant, cocoa, and vanilla. It is full-bodied, intense, and persistent on the palate, with luscious fruit complemented by a bright acidity. It pairs beautifully with pasta in meat sauces, casseroles, risotto, red meat, and game. Alcohol: 14.5%. Contains sulfites.
