Siempre Exclusivo Muerto Blanco is an ultra-limited release in Siempre's Exclusivo series, crafted at the Vivanco family distillery (NOM 1414) in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico under Master Distiller Sergio Cruz. Bottled at a powerful 54.5% ABV (109 proof) with no dilution, it represents a bold, unfiltered expression of artisanal blanco tequila, limited to just 4,500 bottles worldwide.
The production follows a world-first process in which the yeast is allowed to die and rest over a three-week "afterlife," building layered complexity similar to malolactic fermentation in fine rums. Two distinct batches are crafted: Batch One uses agave from the Puerta de la Carreta fields, wild-fermented for 28 days; Batch Two uses agave from Capulin Verde, wild-fermented with fibers for 32 days. Both batches are combined at still-strength and filtered through volcanic rocks. Classical music is played during fermentation using the Mozart method to deepen the connection between agave and yeast.
On the nose, expect jalapeño, spicy pineapple, green apple, fresh-cut grass, wet cement, cayenne, passionfruit, and delicate florals. The palate delivers cooked agave, arugula, tropical fruits, creamy spices, and citrus zest. The finish is full-bodied, creamy, and powerful yet surprisingly smooth, with rich cooked agave flavors lingering throughout.
